A student body with a hundred years behind it
The Student Chapter is the student arm of the Medical Alumni Association - the oldest alumni association for healthcare professionals in Singapore.
The Student Chapter is the student body representing healthcare faculties and students across Singapore.
We are part of the Medical Alumni Association, founded in 1923 by the graduates of the King Edward VII College of Medicine - now the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Association is uniquely the oldest alumni association holding medical, dental, pharmacy and nursing graduates from both Singapore and Malaysia, and the Chapter is where that community begins.
What that means in practice is simple. Your degree will teach you your own profession. The Chapter is where you meet everybody else's - the nurses, pharmacists, dentists, therapists and radiographers you will spend a career working beside - years before the wards make the introduction for you.

The Inter Healthcare Camp and the VIBE Music Festival are ours, built and run by students. Between them sit smaller nights, talks and socials through the academic year.
We back student initiatives
Academia, our educational branch, and community projects such as Block Carers both began as a student's idea. The Chapter gives them a committee, a budget line and a venue.
We connect you upwards
Through the Association you meet practising clinicians across every profession - at talks, at the clubhouse in Outram, and through the Association's mentorship programme.

Where we are
The Chapter is based at the Alumni Medical Centre at 2 College Road, in the middle of the Outram campus - a short walk from Singapore General Hospital, the National Cancer Centre, the Singapore National Eye Centre and Duke-NUS.
The building has a pool, a theatrette and function rooms, and it is where most of what we run takes place.

Membership of the Student Chapter is open to every healthcare student in Singapore, and it is free while you are studying.
